Memorial Day Weekend 2010...

...brought just as much fun as it did last year even if our camping trip had to be cancelled.  With the weather not looking so hot and me being oh so preggo we decided that camping in a tent this weekend just didn't seem to be the best idea.  So my dad cancelled our reservations and we all decided to "camp out" at Grandpa Jim and Patti's house.

We conjured up plenty of indoor activities for the kids and they never knew the difference...
When the weather lightened up a little on Saturday afternoon we headed outside for some fresh shrimp, mussels, salmon, salads and a toasty fire...
After the kids had some full bellies and toasty toes they were more than ready to get some outside activities going...
For being a little boy so obsessed with tractors, trains, cars and trucks Jack wanted nothing to do with the riding lawn mower.  He stayed a good distance back and watched intently...
After a playing hard Bryan decided that it was time for him to check on the fire...
...and even taught Jack how to do it as well...
And just when we thought they were both all snuggled down for the evening and tired out...
...Emily decided to put on a little show for us.  This may seem a little random, probably because it was, but earlier that morning she had wanted her chicken costume from two years ago so that she could dress up like "Al" from Toy Story 2.  Little did we know what was in store for us.  I have it all on video but I am still having a hard time figuring out how to upload movies to this new format so you may have to wait a while to see it...
Finally Emily was all tuckered out and cuddled up on Daddy to listen to some stories...
On Sunday we stayed home and did absolutely nothing but we did venture out again on Monday to get together with all of the Joneses up in Nooksack.  Last year was our first year getting together at the cemetary since we are usually in Sun Lakes camping during this weekend.  Even though the weather was pretty damp the kids had a lot of fun hanging out with family and watching all of the festivities...

Jack gazed at the men as they shot each of their guns...

...and then all of the kids ran out to collect the shot gun shells...
Then we headed back to pay our respects to Great Grandma and Grandpa Jones...
After the cemetary we all headed back to Beck and Marshall's house to have some family time.  Lucky for us Auntie Amanda and Uncle Big Tom stopped by so we could see their new precious little baby boy, Vincent Thomas DeHoog.  He was absolutely perfect in every single way.  I couldn't help but wonder about our own little one still nestled away in my ever growing tummy and prayed that these little cousins find a bond together as strong as Emily and Jake have.
Proud Daddy Tom even found some time to hold Jack...
After a lot of running around upstairs and eating way too many sweets, Jake and Emily decided to venture outside to find the goats...

They played and played but after observing way too many spills in the mud Bryan decided that it was time to head home before the kids were covered in mud.

It was the perfect ending to a fabulous weekend.  With only 5 weeks (max) to go we are getting more and more anxious to meet this little guy in my tummy.  I met with one of the other doctor's at the office last week and everything appeared to be going well.   I had a list full of questions and he was able to address each one of them which helped bring comfort for me.

I am very large, as you can see in the picture I posted above, and my waddle has now turned into something more like an injured duck.  But hey, at least the baby has dropped and we are on our way.  One day I will look down and miss those swelly feet and enormous belly and want to do it all over again...or not.

Three goats and a wedding...

My cousin was married last weekend in a small outdoor ceremony in LaConner.  It was a beautiful event but with a 3 year old and a 20 month old 2pm is not a good time to be out of the house.  Thankfully there were these amazingly kind goats nearby that kept Emily and Jack more than entertained until the wedding began...

The bottle of hand sanitizer gave me a little comfort knowing that these goats were probably friendly and used to people peering in and trying to pet them.  Nonetheless this was as close as we got...
This particular goat was getting a little too close for comfort and as he proceeded to bend down the fence little by little Bryan and I decided that we should probably get back to the wedding...
I snagged a quick picture of my two handsome boys...
and my grandma and grandpa were looking pretty sharp as well...
the ring bearer...
the flower girl...
and finally my cousin Leah with my uncle Brian...
This is what my children were doing during the ceremony to entertain themselves...
cuddling with grandma...
adjusting sun glasses...
admiring" new shiny sparkle flip flips"...
and running through rows of rose bushes far off in the distance...
...while I tried to capture the last few moments of the ceremony of film...
