Bungholio 2009...
I know, I know...you are thinking what the heck is that? Well to be quite honest I am not totally sure myself but what I do know is that it is a made up event that has turned into an annual party for the Jones' and it is a lot of FUN! This year Emily and Jake dressed up in traditional outfits from Poland...
then they paraded around for all to view...well maybe that was our plan.
When they were finally free of costumes they ran back to the play room and played their little hearts out for the rest of the night. Emily now refers to herself as Grandma Martha and she was in full effect this evening preparing food for everyone.
Jake did a little modeling for me...
and Jack was there doing what Jack does.

I am not sure words could describe the fun Emily and Jack had celebrating...
Oh October...
We love Skagit Farm Days. It is one of our favorite things to do all year. This year the weather was amazing (much different that last year) and the kids played for hours...
Emily is always ready for a good tractor ride...
A natural play pin for Jack...
also makes a great balance beam for Emily...
Off for a real tractor ride and a tour of the farm...
It's a little blurry but Baker was looking absolutely spectacular. I just love crisp sunny fall days. There is just something so yummy about them...
We left the petting zoo part for the end. This goat was attacking Emily and eating...yes really eating her hair. I had to pull if out of the goat's mouth with both hands several times. The rest of the victims were in tears and ran out quickly but it didn't seem to fade Emily. She just kept telling the goat to stop and waited patiently as I retrieved her hair.
Nothing like a treasure hunt in the hay...

more birthday moments...
September 9th, 2009...
On Jack's actual birthday I had to work but we did some celebrating as soon as I got home. As a tradition we always make homemade cupcakes (the kid's help make them) and then we eat 'em all up.
September 12th, 2009...
Emily was well aware that it was her birthday so each meal was quite the event. She chose her favorite for breakfast...french toast. This is a rare treat since she just licks the butter and powdered sugar off.
While I was busy tending to Emily Jack managed to push Emily's little green chair from across the kitchen and grabbed just what he wanted...
a slice of bread...
Lunch time...alphabet pasta with Parmesan cheese, peaches and mini peanut butter crackers...
Then we finally let the kids go outside and unwrap their gifts. We limited it to three gifts each this year since it sometimes seems to get a little out of hand. Jack got a John Deere ride on toy, a Cat truck to ride on/sit on or just play with and a Mr. Potato Head set. Emily got a new trike, a tea set and paint supplies.
