Oops...I forgot about this whole week of fun stuff we did during the SECOND WEEK of July( the week
before we headed to Deception Pass). The weather was nice but Bryan was
still working every day. While we had a lot of fun playing outside we missed having him home and did our best to fill up the days with lots of fun activities to keep the kids' (and my) mind off missing Daddy.
We participated in the annual neighborhood garage sale and got rid of a ton of stuff...
Emily was a good little helper and kept track track of the money for me on her very own till...
It was a super hot day and by 1pm the kids began to get a little restless...
While we made quite a bit of money we still have a lot more stuff to get rid of. Bryan and I are both donaters rather than garage salers but I do have to say that it was pretty fun heading to the store the next day with a wad of cash in my pocket to spend on all sorts of goodies for our big camping trip.
One of those goodies was this pink and green colored sand for the sand box. The kids LOVED it...
The kids spent the whole next day playing with sand and practicing their fishing skills...
Emily got "tatted up" a few times...
Jack didn't care for the soak on tattoos and went for the glitter sticker tattoos instead...
We spent the rest of the week playing in the back yard...
Doing various crafts...
We even made some confetti eggs to bring along with us for one of our craft times while we were camping. Usually I am a stickler about doing eggs outside of Easter Day but I was running out of ideas for our camping trip and I caved to Emily's demands...
This little guy turned ONE and then decided that he was a BIG BOY all of a sudden. He is eating whole apples, using a fork and spoon like he has done it for years and drinking from a sippy cup...
On the Friday before we left for our BIG camping trip I took the kids to Schu Farms to play with the animals and get some fresh berries...
The kids could have fed the goats and "cheeeekins" all day but my quarter stash from the garage sale was quickly depleting and we still had some shopping to do. It was a good thing these two are two great little produce shoppers. I think Jack was in awe of the variety of fresh fruit. He literally hoarded piles of fresh fruit in his arms and carefully made his way to the counter saying, "pears, apples, nanas..."
After paying for ALL of Jack's fruit and some boxes of blueberries and strawberries we made our way to the park...
Charlie could LIVE on snap peas alone if I let him...
By the time we left we were all exhausted and ready to head on home to start packing for our BIG camping trip to Deception Pass State Park the next day.
