The day after Charlie's birthday party was absolutely beautiful so as soon as we woke up we headed straight to the beach...
Sifting through tides pools, naming each new friend along the way brought me back to my own childhood. I bet you didn't know that I always wanted to be a marine biologist when I was a little girl. There is just something about exploring sea life that is, and always has been fascinating to me. I was completely nostalgic watching Emily and Jack soak up all of these new experiences...
After some careful deliberation Emily finally touched the sea anemone...
Auntie Jenny spent the morning helping the kids build a sand castle and some sand molds...

While Daddy relaxed with Charlie...
After a few hours at the beach we decided to head back up to camp, shower and start some activities. The week prior to leaving I had prepared some activities for the kids just in case we needed some things to fill in the time. It just seemed like the perfect time to whip out some confetti eggs...
Auntie Jenny was a trooper and WALKED the entire way. Nobody knew that she was about to have her baby the very next week...
When we got down to the beach the kids were ecstatic to find several tee pees lining the beach. Emily quickly became Pocahontas and Bryan was named John Smith. For the rest of the afternoon she would only refer to him as John as they scavenged up "corn" made a fire and planted crops all over the beach...The crab shells were just an added bonus...

While we were eating dinner a pesky visitor began making itself a little too comfortable for all of our standards so Grandpa Jim got out the super soaker and did his best to scare it away...
Charlie and Auntie Jenny got some cuddle time in...

While Emily and Jack explored the woods. I loved listening to Emily create story after story, inviting Jack into her world of fantasy. They played with each other all day every day, evolving their relationship from sister and brother to best of friends...
When they finally arrived back to the fire their hair was literally covered with millions of tiny little flowers. Jack was super excited and started yelling, "Pixie! Pixie!" Emily then explained to all of us that they had real Pixie dust in their hair!
Day THREE was a BIG day!
