Spring Break (part 1)...

We were anticipating spring break more than ever this year knowing that Daddy would be taking the entire week off.  Emily does not have preschool on Fridays so technically her spring break started on the Friday before Daddy was off.  She was sad to leave school but excited about our spontaneous adventures.

On Friday I was itching to start things off so I convinced Grandma Emily to go with us to Chucky Cheese for the afternoon.  I have never taken all three kids there since places like this give me the heebie jeebies but for some reason I thought we should give it a go.  To my surprise the place was practically empty and we were greeted with the vision of SIX employees diligently cleaning and de-germing the games.
Charlie spent all but a few of his tokens riding this Noah's Ark ride...
Jack, who is usually very timid in new surroundings, was in utter awe and disbelief.  I think Chucky Cheese might be his new, most favorite place in the world.  He liked the games but LOVED the tokens and the tickets...

When Charlie's tokens were all gone he circled the concert area, dancing and running to Chucky's favorite tune...

That night when Daddy got home we kicked off spring break officially with a Friday night movie on the projector.
This night's feature was Hopped....definitely not our favorite and happy we rented it for a dollar and didn't purchase it. One time was MORE than enough...

We spent Saturday in our rain gear doing some volunteer work and the rest of the day warming up back inside our house.  After church on Sunday the kids were ready to get back outside and spent the entire afternoon playing in the backyard.  They made bowls full of mud pies...
And even gave them a few taste tests along the way...
Somehow Jack ended up in the sandbox with only a tee shirt and boots on...
Bryan played a little baseball with the kids...
Can you tell it went F....A....R by the expression on her little face?
It was a fun first few days of break but we had a whole lot more in store for these kiddoes in the days to come.

all about emily...

Last year Auntie Jenny bought Emily private swim lessons at Riverside Health Club.  It was tricky trying to find a time when someone could watch the boys while I took her since Grandpa couldn't take her into the changing room.  I finally figured out a plan, got her signed up and she is LOVING it!
As if starting swim lessons wasn't enought, Grandma Emily took Emily with her to Fall City for a mini vacation at Auntie Jenny's house...
One of Emily's favorite things to do at Auntie Jenny's house is to feed the chickens.  She knows all of their names and their species.  She is going to make one good veterinarian some day!

Auntie Jenny took Emily with her to help pick out a few more baby chicks...
She is one proud momma!
The boys from across the street always come running over as soon as they see Emily...
We missed her like crazy for the few days she was gone but I am glad she gets to spend time like this with family.

Emily's VIP...

Emily finally got to have her VIP day at preschool last week after rescheduling it a few times and she was more than ready!  She decided that she wanted to do the same thing as last year so we had to make sure that Bryan was going to be available to participate.
When class began, Emily was more than ready to begin her duties.  She passed out name tags.
She did the calendar and checked on the weather.
She told the class all about Jesus and His love for us.
Then they invited her family (Bryan, the boys, Grandma Emily and Grandpa Jim) to come up while she showed the class a collage she made of all of her favorite things...
Her favorite things were: riding her one wheel bike, doing crafts, riding horses, going on vacations, playing with her brothers, going on nature walks, gardening with Grandpa, animals, fishing, camping, reading, going to Auntie Jenny's house, playing computer, playing Leap Pad, dressing up, going to the beach and Thursday night sleepovers at Grandma's house.
Then these two put on quite the performance...

To end her day the kids each asked her a question of their choice...
