Emily was in love with each and every one of them and was busy, busy holding, snuggling and kissing each and every one of them. Auntie Jenny even let her name them...
This is the "golden haired one" just like Emily so she named her Emily...
And the red haired one was named Cousin Jake...
The black haired one was named Izzy (just like her friend across the street)....
I think this one was Jack....
Well you get how it went. I think we ended up with two or three Emily and Cousin Jakes by the time we were done. While she was busy holding and naming each chicken Jack decided to get in on the action as well. This was his second time around baby chicks. The first time was at Bryan's Aunt Diane's house where I really thought he was going to decapitate one of them but this time he was incredibly gentle and just wanted to snuggle and kiss each one...
He then attempted to get the little chickies out all by himself...
...but they were not having it. All six of them huddled together in the corner to hide...
After a fun Sunday morning at Auntie Jenny's we headed back home. Bryan had some work to do so I took the kids to my mom's so that he could have little peace and quiet. Being the wonderful mother she is, she let me relax a little on the deck while she entertained the kids...
Emily was blowing me kisses from the wagon...
Then Grandma Emily brought out the planting supplies. Emily LOVES to plant and jumped right in to help....
...while Jack pulled off each petal and ate the dirt...
