more OCOTBERRRRRRR camping...

 

Our second camping trip in October turned out to be a chilly one!  We arrived late in the evening and Bryan literally set up camp in the pitch black and rain.  The next morning the rain finally ceased just long enough for me me to get a quick picture of our spot...

Our first visitors came out bright and early bearing lots of FUN gifts for the kids (and Bryan)...

We bundled up and took a walk down to the beach...

The kids found a fort built on the beach and were immediately captivated...

Eventually we got cold enough to decide that we needed some trailer time to defrost parts of our bodies.  We made some "indoor smores" to snack on...

Then entertained ourselves with CRAFT TIME while Daddy did homework in the other room...

Thankfully the kids packed LOTS of toys for the weekend, keeping them well entertained indoors...

The next day we headed into LaConner and visited the LaConner Historical Museum for the day.  They were having apple cider pressing event for kids and had lots of fun activities ready to go for the kids...

Back at camp we roasted marshmallows and ate smores a little early while the rain was away...

The boys don't really like smores so I tried enticing them by slathering one side with peanut butter...

Popcorn balls, hot chocolate loaded with mini marshmallows and peanut butter smores...our tummies were FULL!

LOVE these babies and LOVE the memories we are creating with them....

Happy Dia de los Muertos...

November 1st and 2nd are the two days many cultures celebrate Dia de los Muertos.  While it is around the same time as Halloween, the two holidays having nothing in common.  Emily has been studying about Dia de los Muertos this past month and asked if we could please create an alter for her Great Grandpa Jack.  We did some shopping, stitched together a few pieces of his flannel shirts, made some paper flowers, added a photo and had our very own special alter for him...

Bungholio, Sammy and PUMPKINS!

During the second weekend of October we headed up to Nooksack to celebrate Bungholio with the Joneses...

 

 The following Tuesday, Jack helped his class make Sammy the Scarecrow...

 

 Later that afternoon I accompanied Emily on her field trip to the pumpkin patch...

 The kids all ate lunch together...

There were so many parents to help supervise that we only had one extra kiddo in our group.  Diego, a super nice kiddo,  joined Emily and I for the day...

We come to Schuh Farms all the time to feed these two sister goats but for most of the kids this was their first experience...

Next we went to visit the baby piggies, cow and chickens...

Each kiddo received an ear of corn to feed the chickens...

Then we all piled on the wagon and took a ride out to the pumpkin patch...

 LOVED this day with Emily!  She is growing up so quickly and with her now being in school ALL day long I find myself missing her more and more and wishing we had just a little more time back to spend together.
