We spent some time in between Christmas and New Years soaking up as much SNOW fun as possible. We started by heading out in our own back yard...

...and when they seemed to be all done with the yard we headed for some neighboring hills to test out the new sled Grandpa Jim and Grandma Patti bought the kids...
Charlie rolled along happy as can be in the stroller...
The walk was short and sweet and the hills were perfect...
Even better was that the climb back up was an easy one...

Charlie eventually got a little bored sitting in the stroller and watching all the fun and after a good face washing from Emily I was happy to accompany him back to the house...
Later in the afternoon we packed up our bags and headed down to Auntie Jenny and Uncle Zach's house for some fun winter vacation plans. We spent the first evening gorging on pizza and all sorts of other unhealthy snacks that later lead to a 5-10lb weight gain for both Bryan and I but it was oh so worth it.
The next day we got up and headed up to Snoqualamie Pass to do some sledding on the mountain. As soon as we arrived Emily looked out the window and said, "Is this the North Pole?"
We had planned on paying for the tubing sledding that the resort offers. The idea of using a rope pull to get back up the hill seemed too good to be true. But once we arrived we found out that it was all sold out for the day. Thankfully Bryan had researched several different areas to do some sledding while on the pass. We quickly headed for the nearby park, bundled up our layers of clothes and then began our trek up the old logging road...
The walk was a lllooonnnnngggg one but once we got to the sledding area it was worth it. I didn't get the actual slope on my camera but it was a good, steep, fast one...maybe a little much for little ones...
After Bryan and Emily finally made it back up (20 minutes later), Jack and I took a ride down together...
Emily had fallen on the snow packed ice, bit her lip and knocked her front tooth good enough to accumulate a mouthful of blood so we stuck to snowman building for a little while...
Note for next year: The kids ended up enjoying the sledding back down the logging rode better than the actual sledding slope.
We headed back to Zach and Jenny's and did what we love to do most in Fall City...hang out with Auntie Jenny and Uncle Zach...
Emily, Bryan and Zach went in the hot tub for awhile...
and the snow made for a perfect cooler...
Bryan did some spontaneous snow angels in preparation for the upcoming Polar Bear Swim but declined on posting the pictures. Jenny and I dressed up in the new Paps Blue Ribbon jammies and did a little skit for everyone. All I have to say is that it was three days of nothing but FUN. I wish every day could be like this...any ideas on how we can get them to move up here???
