inside-outside...

The boys have been having a serious case of the "couped-up-inside-and-ready-to-go-out-and-play" so while we were shopping at Costco this month I picked up something a little extra to help entertain them indoors...
When the following Saturday rolled around, the sunshine was out we made out way outdoors.  Bryan and I were supposed to have a real date night out but I was still feeling a little under the weather and we didn't want to pass up the first fire invite of the year with Grandpa Jim and Grandma Patti.  We packed up the kids and headed right on over.  It was a bit chilly and the grass was still a little soggy but that didn't stop the kids from playing a game of soccer...

We brought out the new blue ball and Grandpa got a serious workout pushing the kids all over the lawn...
FIRST OFFICIAL FIRE OF THE YEAR...

Charlie's buddy Christian and his mommy and daddy came out to join everyone for hot dogs as well...

And when it got real late, Daddy took the boys for a wheel barrow ride to get some more wood for the fire...
I wish every day from this point on would be like this.  It is amazing how much energy and excitement one can feel from a simple day with SUNSHINE.  You would think that after 34 years of rain I would be used to it but for some reason it seems exceptionally grey and wet this year.  Maybe it's the anticipation of spring, camping and all the fun we have in store for these kiddoes this summer!
