Another fun week...

With the week before being so much fun we decided to go with it and keep the fun coming...

On Sunday we ventured back to church.  Charlie slept in his car seat the whole time, Emily sat perfectly as usual and Jack only had to make one trip outside.  Honestly it couldn't have gone any better.

After church we were itching to get outside so we packed up the kite and a few more toys and headed out to my dad and Patti's house for a surprise visit...
2 and 1/2 weeks of pure sweetness...
We didn't pack any toys but there was plenty of entertainment for the kids...

All tuckered out and ready to head home...
On Wednesday the Sneva family came for a visit and brought us a fabulous dinner.  The kids were having so much fun and we were so involved in catching up that I forgot to take a picture.

On Thursday we had more visitors.  The Pearson family came for a visit and brought us dinner as well.  The kids had not played together in over a year and a half.  It was so fun to watch them interact with each other.  I think we confused the kids a little since we share so many names...

Charlie is almost five and Jack and Anne, the twins, are 22 months.

We were all sitting down at the table and when we looked up this is what we saw.  Somehow the kids figured out how to organize themselves inside the pool to each their ice cream...
Friday evening we took the kids to the Open House at the Fire Station.  The were several stations set up with activities for the kids so we decided to start off with the police dog...
Next stop was the Parks and Rec for some necklace making.  While Emily was meticulously assembling her necklace Jack broke free from Bryan and took a spill in some sticker bushes.  With several bloody thorns in his hands Bryan toted him back home to fix him up.  Poor little guy...
Charlie, Emily and I decided that we would stick around for a bit.  Lucky for us the next stop was playing "spray the big ball with the fireman"...

Then it was off for a tour of the fire engine...
Daddy and Jack made their way back by this time and Jack was super excited to take a tour of the BIG TRUCKS...

On Saturday we headed back out to my dad and Patti's for a fabulous crab feed.  There really is nothing like fresh crab in the summer.  No matter how much we went out in the boat and ate crab as a kid I never got tired of it.

It was a pretty nice day but we packed the kite just in case...
After a while Bryan thought of an ingenious way to fly the kite without holding it (see the line in the tree?).  He was pretty proud of himself...

When the kids grew tired of kite flying we headed out to the boat.  Emily has been dying to get out in the boat to do some crabbing and fishing and even though Jack thinks he is ready I am voting for him to stay on shore this year...

It was a perfect ending for the week but it was a little bitter sweet as well.  Bryan left early Sunday morning for San Diego and we knew we were going to miss him.  Rarely do we spend time apart as a family and a whole week just felt too long.

To help fill my void the kids and I headed down to Auntie Jenny and Uncle Zach's house for a few days.

To help fill Bryan's void he has spent many days swimming in the hotel pool, lounging at the beach, body surfing, shopping and hitting the late night activities in between work.

We miss him SOOOOO much.  Jack has been kissing my phone when I display daddy's picture and wakes up every morning asking for him.  Emily has been drawing him pictures and asking me to send them to him in an email.  She never ceases to amaze me.

Bryan will be home tomorrow night and we are anxiously awaiting his arrival...
