That is just one of our favorite tunes we consumed ourselves with while driving down to Seattle last Saturday to watch the Elizabeth Mitchell in concert. She is not only a favorite of the kids but of ours as well. Bryan began his admiration for the band Ida back in college and has followed them ever since. Now that they sing children's songs as well we never miss an opportunity to see them in concert or purchase a new album.
It had been two years since they had ventured to the west coast for a tour from New York. Emily, Bryan and Grandma Emily were lucky enough to see them last time but Jack and I had to stay behind since he was only a few days old. This time around though we were all blessed to hear them.
The drive down was luckily timed well with Charlie's nap and for one of the
first times ever he looked liked this while riding in the car...
One day Charlie you will be able to relax, face forward and watch a movie during our long adventures in the car...
The concert was held in an old church in Seattle and it was completely packed once the show began...
Before the concert began Emily spotted Story's (the band's daughter) red apple guitar and immediately felt as if she needed it to complete her band. Emily asked for an accordion for her second Christmas and a hot pink drum set with a bass drum and two symbols for her fourth birthday. When she gets something in her mind there is just no changing it. Personally I will do anything to find a red apple guitar for her if it means I don't have to buy Barbies or something of that nature for her...
Emily was lucky enough to score the front pew and Grandma Emily sat right behind her...
It didn't take long though until the kiddoes venture out and made some new friends to dance and sing along with...
Jack was even kind enough to show this little guy how to crawl. This seems to be a new trend for Jack...
And then the magic began. Her voice truly is magic. Emily danced with some new friends, Jack cuddled with Daddy and Charlie sat on my lap the entire time entranced with the melodies that played throughout the room...

By the time the concert was over Emily was fast asleep in Grandma Emily's arms, Jack was needing a serious nap and Charlie was soothed and ready for his car seat. We decided to wait it out though and get some new CD's autographed.
My star struck husband was beside himself and quickly ran over to get some pictures of his FAVORITE people...

Even though this in itself was the perfect day we had to top it and take the kiddoes to their favorite restaurant for some pasta and Italian Sodas..
