weekend FUN (take two)...

After so much fun on Saturday we were a little lazy on Sunday morning so I decided to get things moving a little bit.  I had Bryan take the "new" outdoor kitchen set to the backyard and surprised the kids....
They LOVED it.  They ran around and around jumping up and down, investigating every nook and cranny...
The "cash machine" was a BIG hit...
Look what Jack found baking in the oven...
PIZZA!
A big THANK YOU to Auntie Jenny for saving this from the school surplus and surprising our kids with it.

After all of the backyard excitement I began my next quest.  I think Bryan and I can both be a little obsessive about researching things we really want.  He is still stuck on trailers while I have been pushing to get a tandom bike for Emily and a bike carrier for the boys.  Don't get me wrong, I really want a trailer as well but I could justify this purchase a little easier since all of the kids birthdays are within the next few months.  This way they can enjoy their presents during the summer instead of having them sit in the garage an entire school year.  So after a little more discussion Sunday morning we headed down to the local bike shop, picked up just what we needed and then made our way to Padilla Bay for the day.

It took a little convincing for Emily.  She wasn't sure that this bike should be her early birthday gift.  It wasn't hot pink and it only had ONE wheel but after a little practice in the parking lot she was one happy little girl...
We loaded up the boys and then cruised on down to the trail...
The tide was WAY out so Emily and Jack got out and threw some rocks in the mud flats...
After a few hours of riding around we headed up the street to Grandpa Jim and Grandma Patti's house...
Emily gave daddy a little back massage...
We spent the rest of the day taking trips around the block...
...running through the sprinkler...
...visiting and eating a delicious dinner...
...and making smores of course...
DELISH...
Days like this make me so thankful that summer is here.
