We usually spend the third of July visiting Grandpa Jim and Grandma Patti at their campsite at Deception Pass State Park but since we are camping there later this month, they stayed home for the holiday weekend and we headed up to Birch Bay to meet up with the Joneses.
The kids helped me make some delicious treats...
... and then tested them out...
We were the first to arrive so we unpacked all of our stuff and headed down to the beach while the tide was still out...
We are so thankful for Auntie Sheesh and for her generous spirit. We are pretty fortunate to get to spend special days like this at her beach house...
After throwing rocks for a while they decided to "bury some treasure" in the sand...
More family started to arrive so we headed on up to visit, snack and have some cousin time...

Auntie Manda is the queen bee of jello and Emily was pretty impressed...
There was an impromptu dance party on the upper deck...

By 8pm all the JONES peeps have all arrived but these Joneses were getting tired....
We took one last trip to the beach...
...then headed back up to pack up, get the kids dressed in jammies and finally headed home around 9pm. After a FULL day of playing these kiddoes were tired in all the right ways. It was the perfect afternoon and a great way to continue our holiday weekend fun!
