DAY 3: (SATURDAY):
On Saturday morning everyone headed to Twisp to check out the local farmers market...
We took a drive up to Sun Resort on our way home just to see what it was all about. The drive way BEAUTIFUL but we are definitely camping people...
By the time we got back the kids were antsy to get out of the car and into the pool...
The water was COLD, like colder than the river. The night before they had to pump all of the water out due to the extreme amount of sunscreen in the water. They then pumped water in from the river and it was chilly...
After lots of swimming we headed back to our camp site and were joined by our friends. The kids tested out the bubble wand their Great Grandma Fox bought them this summer. Soon we had a crowd of kids at our site, each wanting a turn with the giant bubble maker...
SUNDAY:
Sunday morning everyone got ready to head on home. We were frantically packing up all morning when Auntie Tammy paid us a visit. She mentioned something about staying one day longer next year and suddenly the same thought popped into our heads. Bryan ran up to the KOA office and booked ONE more night! The kids were super excited as were we. Sometimes you just know when it doesn't feel right to leave and with one more night we felt complete. It didn't take long for the kids to adjust from packing mode. They threw on their swim clothes and we headed to the pool...
After some swimming we headed to the store to purchase another tube and a raft. Bryan and I had each had a turn floating down the river during the prior days but we had never been at the same time because of the kids. I was the first to float with the Joneses Floatilla on Friday and it was honestly one of the best things I had ever experienced. I took Jack with me since the water was shallow and he nestled on top of my the entire way. On Saturday Bryan went without any kids and like it so much that we ALL needed to give it a try...
When the kids were not outside playing they were getting their wiggles out inside the trailer...
We didn't get any pictures of us floating down the river but it was amazing. All of the kids sat with me in the raft while Bryan floated in the tube by himself. The kids LOVED every minute of it! By the time we got back that evening the kids were exhausted and the campground was empty. We had some movie time inside and Jack fell asleep just like this, wrapped in his favorite blanket and his motor home in his hands...
MONDAY:
On Monday morning both Bryan and I agreed that we felt better about heading back...probably because we were headed straight to Birch Bay for the remainder of the week! The drive back was BEAUTIFUL as usual and we stopped by Ross Lake for a snack and potty break...
This was one of my favorite vacations! It was so much fun to see all of the aunties, uncles and cousins and spend some quality time with them. We are already looking forward to next summer's adventures with them again!
