On Easter morning we decided to go to 8am mass in order to get all of our festivities in so it was quick business in the morning. We got the kids showered, dressed, somewhat fed and out of the house by 7:45...pretty good for a pregnant lady and two kids.
We then headed back to our house to see what the Easter Bunny had left us...
Jack was a little more aggressive this year and found his fair share of Easter eggs...
I think the Easter Bunny had a little help from Uncle Mike (who flew home for the holiday) this year...
Grandpa Jim and Patti loaded up some Easter baskets for the kids as well. There were a few treats but the kids were more excited about the baseball bats, balls, kites and blow up innertubes...
Then it was time to eat!
I did a gutsy move this year and made mini frittatas from scratch with no recipe. I kept meaning to make them ahead of time just to see if they would be any good but I ran out of time. Thank goodness they turned out...but then how do you go wrong with bacon, ham and three types of cheeses?
After brunch the kids got to look for "the big daddy gifts" that the Easter Bunny left them.
Emily got Buzz Lightyear...
and Jack got a new train set...
Next we took the festivities outside....
Emily absolutely LOVED cracking the confetti filled eggs on her head...
and on everyone else's as well....
Jack stuck to stomping on them and cracking them in his hands...
Finally, Bryan decided to get out some of the Easter gifts and play a little baseball with them...
It was such a fun morning! After everyone left we did a serious clean up job and then rested a little before our next destination. More Easter fun is on it's way...
Woo-hoo for Jack's Geo-trax Ann! We have them at our house. Actually, two huge bins of them, and they are hands down the toy that gets played with each and every day. It's fun to see the boys grow and develop, getting better at linking the tracks and being creative. Have fun!
