We spent New Year's Eve with some of our most favorite peeps, the Pearsons. We planned for a very simple evening with intentions of going home around 8pm since all of our kiddoes are early bed timers but apparently these kids all had different plans. They played and played and finally ended up on the KINEX playing Wipe Out and Dance Party until almost 11pm! That was a record for BOTH of our families!
All of the kids play so well with our Charlie. He was running around terrorizing all of them with this hammer in hand...
KINEX Dance Party in full throttle...

While we waited to head on down to the beach the kids played...
Numbers (the order in which you became a Jones) were painted on all polar bears this year...
Emily only got the bottom half of her wet but was completely exhilarated! She absolutely LOVED it and immediately began talking about doing it again next year...
Some of the die hards made their way back in two or three more times...
Back on shore the boys and I hung out with some of our favorite peeps...
...and Emily was introduced to a new cousin. I was just informed that they are 3rd cousins on the Larson side of the family (thanks Tom). Emily was elated...
Bryan got some great pictures with his cousins...
Then we headed in for a warmer swim...
Cousin Alison kept the boys well entertained through the glass...
Jack tested out my 2012 cookies and gave me his full approval...
Jack got some quality time in with his Godfather, Uncle Mark...
And just when things seemed too good to be true Charlie climbed on a chair and leaned a little too far back sending the chair and Charlie crashing to the ground. One BIG bloody nose and a split lip later, this little boy was feeling DONE. I cleaned him up and tried cheering him up in the game room...
...but his battle scars were still present and he began to melt...

The next morning we were up bright and early and made our way to Birch Bay for the Jones's annual Polar Bear Swim. Cousin Alison met our timid boys outside while the rest of the Joneses downed shots of brandy and other beverages inside the condo...
The Bellingham newspaper was also inside interviewing family members and taking many memorable photos...While we waited to head on down to the beach the kids played...
They all gathered around...
Then the count down began and all these Joneses (and a few friends) plunged in to the bay...In they went...

We made our on home, not without a requested stop at Starbucks from Jack, and finished up the rest of our New Year's Day relaxing at home.
