On Thursday morning we were supposed to go to the Point Defiance Zoo but I was just not feeling up to it. A 45 minute drive and the insane cost to enter made me rethink things a little bit. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the zoo, but seriously our kids are little enough that a local family farm brings them just as much joy, if not more...
We all gathered in the covered wagon and headed off to see the animals...
It didn't take long for Emily to spot the horsey...
The kids were fascinated with the bunnies and Auntie Jenny kept hinting that maybe Emily needed one for her sixth birthday...
All sorts of chickens...
Then we took a walk to the other side of the farm...
On the way home Auntie Jenny and I were TIRED so we stopped to get us each a coffee but as usual they ended up in the wrong hands...
After their fill on coffee Auntie Jenny took us to this amazing THREE story playground in Issaquah...
All the way at the top...
We took a break for lunch, played a little more and then headed on back to Auntie Jenny's house...
Back at Auntie Jenny's I found Emily just like this. She was sitting all alone in the back yard reading the new books she got at Backster Farms...
The boys on the other hand were getting into trouble in the chicken coup...
That evening the kids were still going strong so we took them on a bike ride to a nearby school to run off the rest of their energy...
Olivia started taking a few more steps...
On Friday morning we had a quiet morning inside while it rained buckets outside...
The kids cuddled with their new Angry Birds toys...
Olivia and Auntie Jenny joined us in our trailer bright and early...
Charlie was itching to get outside so I got him all ready in his rain gear and set him outside the trailer. Needless to say he lasted about forty whole seconds...
We spent the rest of the day hanging out inside Auntie Jenny's house...
When the rain finally stopped we headed outside. Jack tested out Emily's new bike...
...while Emily tested out her new roller skates (her incentive for sleeping all by herself for 30 days straight)...
After awhile she finally got the hang of it and did some serious posing for us...
The boys took turns racing around on the scooter...
By evening they were all tuckered out and got a good nights rest before Olivia's big day on Saturday...
First stop, the barn...
Charlie was on full throttle and decided that he was going to do anything his siblings did, and then some. He climbed to the top of this dome, lurched himself through the center and then dangled until I could get him out. He repeated this process until I finally removed him from it all together...
