Kiddo Update...

While I wait for my next four rolls of film to be developed I thought I would take some time to write about the kids. I look at them daily and wonder where the time has gone. Emily is growing up so quickly and Jack is now right behind her. It really makes you stop and appreciate all of the little things they do that just brighten your day.

Jack Charles Jones...

Age: seven months

Height: about 31 inches

Weight: about 20 pounds (home measurements so they are not totally accurate)

Clothing size: Jack is built just like his mommy. He is all legs! He just moved out of 6-12 month pants because they look like capris. Now we just have to find pants in 12-18 month that won't fall off his little waist. He is still wearing 6-12 and 12-18 in shirts but it feels like he is growing every day so who knows how long that will last.

Eating: Jack is eating just about everything (that a 7 month can eat). He like pear sauce, apple sauce, peas, carrots, sweet potatoes and any other food I decide to make for him. He loves Cheerios and Baby Mum Mums. He just plain loves food and is an excellent eater.

Moving: Jack started sitting on his own during the last part of March and since then he has been scooting himself around the house. He has been getting into the crawling position but then resorts to the scooting. His favorite spots to scoot to are Emily's closet and the kids' bathroom. He also loves scooting over to the sliding glass door and banging on it as if to say, "Let me out there! I want to play!"

Jack is also standing up when he has something to lean against. His little legs are always stick straight like he is ready to walk. I definitely not encouraging this! =)

Favorites: Jack loves playing with all of the teething toys in the numerous toys baskets around the house. He enjoys "chewing" on Emily's books but is not as interested in them as Emily was at this age. He is always on the go! Recently he loves tackling Pablo and the Giant Yellow Chick, two of Emily's talking toys.

Emily Louise Jones...

Age: two and seven months

Clothing Size: Emily is wearing 5T in shirts, 4T in pants, and size 8 in shoes. People in public always think she is about four and it makes me so sad. To me she is still just my little love bug.

Height: around 40 inches (she moves around a lot so it is hard to tell)

Weight: 32 pounds

Eating: Still nothing much but she is getting a little better. Emily had a few weeks where she ate almost everything we ate but then it went away. A few things that are always a given are: tortillas, fruit, peanut butter on spoon, alphabet noodles with ketchup, toast with jam, peas, blueberry pancakes and oatmeal.

Talking: Emily is talking up a storm all the time! She has always been my verbal girl. She says the funniest little things all of the time. She has amazing manners and always says please and thank you. I will catch her sitting in the corner just reading a book to herself. The amazing thing is that she is reading it correctly...she has memorized some of her books. It is about the most precious thing you have ever seen. Here are a few NEW things she can do...
counting to 40
counting to 20 in Spanish
naming all of the colors in Spanish
matching objects to the letter sound they begin with and naming the letter as well (example: "This is an turtle. T...t...t..turtle starts with the letter T"

Favorites: Emily loves to paint and color on her easel or her little art table. She loves to stick stickers all over the place but we encourage her to stick them on paper. Emily loves to read books and play make believe in her room. Recently she wants to act out The Three Little Pigs. I am always "momma pig" for days afterward. If Emily could live on a farm she would be in complete bliss. She loves animals and has no fear of them. She would love to run all day in fields of grass, swing on swings and go down big twisty slides. Since we don't live on a farm like this we try to take daily stroller rides to the park near our house and visit Diane's farm or petting zoos whenever the opportunity arises.
