Hide your scissors...

if you want your child to have beautiful long, lush hair.

With Jack being so sick this past month I have to say that most of my attention has gone toward him. Every spare second I have I scoop up Emily and find something to do with her but sometimes you just can't see what's coming...

While I was changing Jack's millionth diaper last week (he had a serious case of diarrhea with the virus he had) Emmy Lou slipped away without me knowing. I was so caught up with Jack that I didn't even notice that she was no longer playing in his room. All of a sudden I stopped and noticed how quiet it was. Any mother knows that sound and knows that it means nothing good.

I called out for her several times and then found our bedroom, my sewing scissors in hand, reaching under the big cushy chair. At first I thought she was trying to cut the cat, which would have been terrible, but then I saw the damage. About 10 inches of her hair had been cut in a 5 inch horizontal area. Basically, the whole side of her hair was gone! The best part was that she was shoving the hair under the chair so that I wouldn't see what she had done.

After a few tears, on my part, and a long talk with her about scissors I decided what was done was done. I clipped her hair and tried to hide it but it wasn't looking so hot so after some convincing from some other viewers I decided to make her a hair appointment and fix it for good.

This is her hair before the big hair cut. You can see this is the side with the damage...

  1. While her method wasn't so great, the end result is lovely! :-)
